Naked Turkey Burgers

For our first naked meal, we decided to make Naked Turkey Burgers.


Ingredients:

1 lb 99% lean ground turkey
1 dash garlic powder
1 dash onion powder
1 small handful fresh chopped basil
1 dash dried oregano
1 egg
breadcrumbs
1 organic tomato
1 head organic iceberg lettuce

Mix the first six ingredients in a bowl. Add breadcrumbs until the mixture reaches a good packing consistency. Pack into four patties. Grill burgers until cooked through. Soak lettuce in cold water while patties cook. Place cooked patty on iceberg leaf. Top with tomato, organic ketchup and other desired naked toppings. Wrap sandwich with iceberg leaf and enjoy! 


Makes about four servings.

Hands on time: 10 minutes. Total time: 20 minutes.

Estimated cost for turkey, lettuce and tomato:
$10.00-- this will serve us for two meals and is all organic  

As our first naked meal, it was a success! Ms. Naked paired with cottage cheese. Mr. Naked paired with all-natural salsa and organic all-natural blue chips. 

What we would do differently next time:
-May use garlic cloves instead, but that adds time and dishes.
-Might try with avocado on top.
-Will make sure lettuce is dry. Wet lettuce made contents slide out when we tried to dip our sandwiches in ketchup.
